Using Folio

Which books can Folio open?

Folio is being built for DRM-free EPUB 2 and EPUB 3 books, PDFs, comic archives, Markdown, and plain text. It does not remove copy protection from books.

Can I read without an internet connection?

Reading, searching, highlights, and notes are designed to work on your device. A network connection is needed only for services you choose, such as browsing an OPDS catalog or using optional iCloud sync.

How does syncing work?

Sync is optional. When enabled, you can choose whether to sync your full library, reading data without book files, or reading progress only. See the Folio privacy page for details.

Folio is still in development, so features and availability may change before release. Store links will appear here when it ships.
